I had one of these but in the end found it just too glitzy so I removed every other chrome strip, trying the look first by masking off with black insulation tape, then it looked, to me, much nicer. Unfortunately can't locate a picture, I've sold her now to a very keen Spanish enthusiast.

Yes I know you can get used to it, it's more the practicalities such as car park ticket machines and decreased visibility that concerns me. Still if the car is good that could override the cons. Having never driven a 320 auto before does anyone know what the rpm is at a 70mph (120kph ish)...

Yes I will check the body thoroughly Charles and I take your points on board. As far as bringing a car in from the UK the registration process onto Spanish plates is eye wateringly expensive, looking at something in the order of another €800 :eek:

Mines a manual AC model and it has vacuum pods to control the ducting, found that out when one of the vacuum pipes got knocked off when refitting the inlet manifold.

Found the problem, it was a vacuum hose that I had inadvertently dislodged when I had the manifold off. Until now I had no idea that the system was vacuum operated. Anyway all working and blowing nice and cold:D:D

Hi, I have a problem on my W124 with A/C. All of a sudden the centre vents won't blow any air. The side vents are blowing even more cold air at the moment because the centres obviously aren't playing ball. I agree with you Nick but all the o rings have been done, new pipes as well and the delivery valves along with the rubber hoses further back under the washer bottle. What I cannot work out is the temperature issue, when it's hot it's silky smooth, when it's not the whole car shakes.:wallbash:

Had injectors checked at a diesel service specialist and they are all reported as being good and serviceable. So they're back in and still the problem is there when cold. However, the other night the car was parked nose up next morning when it started it idled smooth!! But then after driving...

Manifold off and engine cold and it idles smoothly no blowing from any inlet valve ports. So now the manifold will go back on and I'll report back.

Ok, what symptoms should I look for will that be air being pushed out of the ports? Reason I ask is when we fired it up checking for fuel leaks following delivery valve resealing, without the manifold on we didn't notice anything puffing.
