    w204 c-class : 2 thermostats in 5 years?

Prior to this 2013 c-class I had a 3-series BMW for 4 years, and before that a older BMW for 8 years. Before that I had a VW scirocco for 8 years. In those 20 years of motoring I had to replace a thermostat once. 5 years with a new c-class and I need two? To double the annoyance this latest...

W204 radiator fan kicking in more than usual

Acknowledging that for the last few weeks temperatures have been higher than normal, I feel the radiator fan is kicking in a lot more than normal even at cooler ambient temps. For example even during a more normal day with around 16 degrees outside, the fan is kicking in - this is not normal...

Here's what two years of road film looks like

Yeh white is good at hiding swirls, and there is a small filler benefit I notice with SRP. But there is no abrasion effect - that's not my experience of using SRP on cars for a couple of decades. The method is key though; working in small areas I apply a quick spread of SRP over a wider area...

Here's what two years of road film looks like

The polish has cleaner built in, it lifts all that grime and dissolves tar spots and leave the paintwork glass smooth. I tried clay bar before - there is no benefit I could see. Autoglym super resin, used it for years.

Here's what two years of road film looks like

Yeh I don't see the point in a two step process when Autoglym super resin does it all in one step. You probably burnt a good amount of cals though :)

Here's what two years of road film looks like

Yeh I think a lot of people would have, but it's a one step process with the polish, it removes all that gunk and leaves a protective coat in one step, rather than bar then polish. I did clay bar on the bumper once and it was a lot of work that still needed a polish after.

Here's what two years of road film looks like

So last summer the passenger side of my c-class didn't get it's usual polish. Even I was surprised at the tar and road film that built up on the paintwork. Super resin polish soon sorted that out though. Passenger side polished wing with passenger door showing 2 years of neglect. This is...

W204 - where are the front fogs?

Thanks Wjk, I did think the intelligent lighting adjusted the pattern, but I could not see it when testing this morning. From that video I can see the adjustment is very small, you'd need a dark location and a keen eye to see it happening. Interesting to also read that someone thinks the DRLs...

W204 - where are the front fogs?

So today I noticed when I push the fog light button on the dash that the daytime running lights (shown above) go out, but nothing else appears to come on. I have the xenon light pack which looks just like the above photo. Are there no front fogs on this? And supplementary question, why...

    Gurgling water noise from dash

I've done the easy job, found the little grid on the drivers side at the wiper arm totally silted up. Just need to get the air out the system as you have described now.

    Gurgling water noise from dash

Hmm okay - reading your advice I will add this, two days ago the car was reverse parked up a steep incline for a couple of hours. Also, today the dash is saying "check coolant level". Thanks.,

    Gurgling water noise from dash

A few minutes after start up, I hear a few seconds of water gurgling behind the heater vents on my C180. Related info : the heater dial goes from 0-28, but 0-20 all feels cold, then suddenly it will start blowing noticeably hot only when it's turned right round to 25. A few months ago the...

About to Purchase new coupe, would welcome opinions... photos inside

My routine is a 1.5 mile trip to work each day, and a 17 miles round trip, 8 minutes of which is motorway, twice a week. Other than that its pretty much standard shopping trips and very occasional longer trips. I kind of get the feeling now that if I go for the diesel I'll constantly be...
