Just had inlet port shut off motor done on mine, car not yet 3 year old. Symptoms were exactly as you describe James. Codes were read and repair done by MB.

Took the car into MB dealer today for them to have a look. Codes read and diagnosis was inlet port shut-off motor faulty. Thanks for your earlier diagnosis Dieselman, you were spot on :thumb: Car fixed under warranty no probs. :)

Thanks for the advice. I'll have a look. I have also noticed that the cowls around the ends of the exhaust pipes are getting dirty (exhaust soot) much quicker than usual, this may point to egr also? I'm not sure about the inlet port shut off motor:confused: That's a new one to me:doh:

Just been out in the car for a short run, everything ok initialy but after a couple of mile I put my foot down and not much happened. Experienced this once before a couple of weeks ago. Acceleration is very steady, no kick down etc. Pull over and stop the engine, restart and bingo, everything...

It's almost certainly a result of your insulation instalation (sounds poetic). You need to make sure that your new roof insulation has not covered the vents at the eaves, you have probably insulated right up to the edge thus preventing essential air flow. Needs sorting otherwise rot will set in.
