Thanks Guys, and yes it is a V6 diesel motor, as it happens I was within a couple of miles of Eastbourne Mercedes dealer this PM, so got the parts guy and a mechanic to look at it, £18 later I have two orange rubber gaskets to fit tomorrow before driving to the Lakes on Saturday.:D

Come on some body, can you see the picture, and why is the joint loose, is something missing.

Sorry about this as I was more interested in posting the image properly. Anyway, should this joint be tight, the jubilee clip is done up as far as I would chance it, but the pipe seems to not grip the inner pipe, so this moves.

Thanks for your comments guys, so it seems that I need a set of springs, and have contacted MB, they quoted £152 +vat for shocks, and £50.50 + vat for springs, although they need the colour codes from old springs to supply.

I had this problem with my Sprinter, tried all the DPF fluid cleaners and premium fuel which seemed to help at times, but not a complete fix, I then had it on a snap on code reader that showed wrong values on the DPF sensor readings, fitted a new sensor and it has been fine for the last 1000 miles.
