    battery keeps going flat

Another point worth mentioning is that to test that all systems shut down as they should then need to be woken up first. If the battery is disconnected, the reconnected this will not be the case. The method I use is to clamp the battery terminal with a long nose vise grips or similar and connect...

    LHD car/van wanted

Hi, I am looking for a left hand drive vehicle. Mostly interested in a 210 estate or a V class but would consider any large saloon. Also looking for a van, large Luton body, 3500kg, either LHD or RHD. Would be prepared to travel for the right vehicle. thanks

missfiring at tickover 2003 c class 200 petrol

Hi John, The system I mentioned would be more efficient that the redex to the extent that there would be no comparison. I have used this and had some success. Thats not to say it will work for you but there is a good possibility and so I think it would be worth a shot. Take a look here -...

missfiring at tickover 2003 c class 200 petrol

Has anyone tried a good top end clean. There systems which inject chemical into the intake as the cars is running which do a good job (some better than others). Worth a try before spending on a top end build.

    Cruise Control Problem w203

Castlecomber, Billy Coogan or Ned Kelly maybe. Does this play up every time its used or only sometimes. If everytime, it would be easier to find the fault. The first step should be to read, record and clear all codes then drive it. After it plays up another read could show a relevant fault...

    Cruise Control Problem w203

It does not have a brake light switch. Doubtful. The front lamps are supplied from the front SAM module. While the SAM is involved in the CC the circuits are separate. The CC is best described as being virtual. It exist in the software of 3 (I think)** modules. You posted that the problem...

    Seat Belt Nag

As someone said above, it can be done. It is also possible to code other things out like seat occupancy sensors, passenger airbags etc. For legal liability reasons I decline this work as does anyone else I know who can do it.

    Timing Chain Jumped?

This is actually a very common issue. I have seen it happen at as little as 39k. On sat morn I was doing a job for a Merc specialist who had 3 with the same fault. The timing chain is only single, not duplex, and stretches. Jumping a tooth often happens after a service. The honest john info...

missfiring at tickover 2003 c class 200 petrol

I have seen this problem a number of times. There are actually two possible issues with the head, carbon causing valves to stick or loose valve guides. I have also seen other problems mis-diagnosed as this issue. If they actually measured low compression on number one then they are probably...
