    W212 Roof Bars

They are genuine Mercedes bars and bought for a pre facelift saloon with panoramic roof. I do not know if there were any changes to the roof in the facelift. Peter

    W212 Roof Bars

Hi I have a set of W212 Roof Bars and no W212 (changed to CLS) and they do not fit. Could be persuaded to part with them for £50 Either to collect from Guildford or shipment at cost. Peter

Rear ended yesterday but third party refusing to pay

One of the reasons I like a tow bar on the back of my car. If someone rear ends me they will get noticeably damaged. Unfortunately on my current car it is an electric foldaway unit so cannot be seen. I once got rear ended whilst driving a Bedford CF camper, the OP reversed and drove off...

    CLS350d CLS350 Bluetec differences

My CLS (Shooting Break) is about 20 months old I am sure it has BLUETECH on the back (right hand side), certainly uses Addblue and has 9G gear box. I cannot see any specific differences with the current desc/spec on the Mercedes website. The slightly earlier ones had the 350 cdi Blue...

    Stuck in the mud! Towing

I agree -- learnt my lesson in heavy snow, I pulled a Citroen estate out of a ditch in, of all things, a Panda 4*4. Untied and was just about to go when the person I had just rescued accelerated too hard and hit the back of me.

Am I mad to consider changing my MB for a Tesla S?

Just found the link -- an interesting insight into the problems and joys https://www.carthrottle.com/post/driving-a-telsa-model-s-from-london-to-paris-was-the-most-stressful-and-satisfying-thing-weve-ever-done/ I know it costs more but when I fill the tank on my CLS 350CDI the range shows...

Am I mad to consider changing my MB for a Tesla S?

Fabulous car looks, performance comfort all seem to be there, have a colleague who test drove one and raved about it. I would guess it depends on your journey requirements 260 mile range and quick charge looks good but I seem to recall a review of a Tesla done on a cold wet February evening...

    Portable WiFi

Portable Wi Fi connects via mobile phone network so should give exactly the same coverage as a mobile phone. If no mobile phone coverage then you are "on your own" as none of the built in features (accident notification, traffic on sat nav etc) of comand will work as they all connect through a...

    Portable WiFi

Hi I have a pay as you go Everything Everywhere WiFi unit, plugs into the 12 volt socket and provides a WiFi hot spot. Comand logs in and all seems to work. In my car (CLS SB) the unit sits in the cubby beneath the armrest, 12v socket there as well. These units are available on a monthly...

Any shooting break owners on the forum?

Interior space pretty good, manoeuvrability is OK but had an E-Class before the SB and that is not that much smaller. Parks itself into a fairly small space. Personally I think that the rear camera is an absolute must.

    E350 2015 Horrible "safety" feature

Hi I seem to remember that this feature was introduced after some minor pop star fell out of his Mercedes whist reversing with the door open and ran over his legs. The story hit the press and I believe the switch to Park on opening the door was introduced as a "Safety Factor". The only...

Looking for some help -- Spare Wheel S218

Hoping someone out there can help. My newish CLS (218 shooting Brake Facelift) came with a can of sticky stuff and a small compressor as the well under the back end is full of an Adblue tank. AS I may be driving a lot on the continent later in the year I would feel far happier with a space...
