    Daft question about W/S button

Thanks all. I'll take it out of 'W' and leave it in 'S' now. If I can't feel a difference, I'll have to get that switch seen to.

    Daft question about W/S button

OK, This might seem like a daft question, because I'm sure that mose MB owners know the answer to this already. What does the W/S switch next to the auto shifter on my CLK do. I'm guessing its for switching the shifting program of the auto, but I cannot really feel any difference whether its...

    Oil Prices Crack New Records.

We're all muggs! Petrol prices will keep creeping up as long as we keep filling up. It's a supply and demand thing - the oil producers have the supply, and we all have the demand. I often ask myself - what would the price of petrol have to rise to before I sell my car and get a job that...

    Lowering a CLK with Coil-Over's

Does anyone know if a W208 CLK 55 AMG sits any lower than a 430 as standard? The H&R kit for this car states that it fits both the 430 and the AMG and lowers them 25mm, but how can it lower both by the same amount if the AMG is lower from the factory to begin with?

    LED indicators

yes - that's right. The resistors I've seen for this particular job are encased and are about the size of a matchbox.

    LED indicators

Howard, Did you know that you just need to fit a resistor in line with these bulbs to cure the warning light problem. This same issue occurs with loads of cars when you fit a low wattage bulbs like these. The bulbs are gone now, but this info may help the new owner of them.

    Suspension - springs and dampers

Believe me when I say that you should consider a set of GMax spring only if you own a Citroen Saxo or the like. But if you own a well built German engineered car you should only be considering a well built German engineered set of springs.

    Suspension - springs and dampers

Spoke to Eibach UK this morning and they say there is two opions for the 220CE depending on whether you have self leveling or not. For models with Self levelling: lowers front by 35-40mm and rear by 30-35mm. price for these are £120.00 (inc VAT) For models without Self levelling; lowers the...

    Suspension - springs and dampers

If you're going to buy springs, I'd go for H&R or Eibach. Personally I feel that money spent here is definately worthwhile. It's a faulse economy to go with cheaper brands. Not sure what MB you have - I'll get you some links.

    Lowering a CLK with Coil-Over's

Thanks peppernick, That's good info. I didn't realise that H&R did a kit for the AMG. I was begining to think that the KW was the only option. Despite the maintenance issues of the coil-over kit I do think they are the business. I thought the KW's wouldn't suffer from siezed spring seats...

    clk 55 or 430

Yep, I'll second that MPG figure. I regularly get 26-28mpg on my commute to work.

    Lowering a CLK with Coil-Over's

I'm not exactly spoilt for choice for lowering options for the CLK 55 AMG. I spoke to Eibach and apparently their CLK springs will not fit the AMG because the spring cups are a different size/shape! I was thinking of using these coil-overs from KW - check out this link...
