Id expect that if Merc mechanics are better trained & got special tools it should take them less time than a non-Merc mechanic, not quote me DOUBLE the time & TREBLE the price.

Last friday, while i was picking up from Merc dealer a new centre prop rubber & bearing, i asked them how much to fit them, answer - 2.6 hours job = £234 + vat, :eek: My local stainless exhaust centre did the job for me today, the guy had never done one on any Merc before & he was finished in 1...

@BlackC55, I for one would like to thank you for being so knowledgeable & helpfull, you helped me in the past & its appreciated by many more im sure. A real fount of knowledge about 202s (& others no doubt) :thumb:

As i said, make sure you check the inside ones because if your caliper is sticking you can have outside pad thick & inside pad totally gone...

1st check, are your disc pads worn out, especially the inside one ?

Iv tried the standard Bosch & the Valeo ones on mine (single blade) not impressed with either.
