Just that the camshaft variator was shot?

Just had the car in the garage several times as every time you touch the throttle the car makes a gravelly vibrating noise from the front. Sounds a bit like a knackered bearing. The garage have quoted 600 and up to fix this. Anybody know any cheap fixes or had a similar problem.? It's a manual...

Sorted, tried fitted and bought.

I've found a set of these cheap and I'm wondering if they will fit? Offset is 5 x 112 and not too sure what this means? I think these wheels originally came from an e class? Cheers craig

Hmmm what would it throw up? MAF is directly associated as an engine sensor so it makes sense I suppose. No other fault codes. Could be that I may be chasing this fault, fix the MAF and something else pops up!

Update! Had the car on diagnostics and it's the mass air flow sensor. No other faults. Here's hoping changing it clears the light!!

Hi mate, I wouldn't know where to begin with buying one? No idea what's compatible and what's not? My cradle sticks out the dash at the passenger side. Old Nokia looking thing?

So the new test system which requires all warning lights to be functioning correctly has been suspended? Probably a good idea for me to get a fresh mot now just in case it's an expensive fix in January. Not the best straight after Xmas!

Cheers for that, that clears up the confusion! I'll hopefully get a chance to remove the tape before the diagnostics. £58 dosent seem so bad. No idea what a merc dealer would charge?

Hi, I have an old Nokia cradle kit in me w203 c200. Can this be updated to take possibly a more modern phone? Failing this ill remove it completely so it's free for someone if they can make use. Thx craig

It's booked in for diagnostics in a Mercedes specialist garage next week for full diagnostics. I couldn't get the dash plastics off to remove the tape. Two hooked tools are needed?
