I often find if you go onto a comparison website and re-fill in your details, the same company that you are currently with will offer you a quote on the comparison website - that it less than your renewal quote (I guess to be competitive). I think they rely on you just renewing for an easy life

Definitely sounds like the brake disks grinding on the pads - which would be the case if they are warped and not going through the caliper straight.

Is it from inside the car - couldnt be your fan belt/pulley on the air con pump?

Ok thanks, at least it is not just me! Engine temperature is getting up to 80-90 every time, and front tyres were changed last month so assume they are ok and correct pressures. Did get my first 39mpg for sometime last night so hopefully things are on the up!
