Its an easy job to add another battery under the drivers seat on the 639 (I think it used to be a factory fit option) just use a Durite smart charge relay, we do this on all our vans so we can run beacons etc at breakdowns & still start the van.

I know what you mean about the steering wheel I found that the steering wheel from the C class (w205) was a straight swap depending on spec & a lot cheaper than the 447 ones, I found one on ebay for £100 you just need to swap the contact / ecu mountings (only 3 screws) over to make it all work...
