Driven all over Europe for 30+ years, never used a GB/UK sticker, never been mentioned when pulled over or at customs etc.

On a recent trip to France -

Calais to Rouen, then via Tours and Le Mans via Bordeaux to Condom. Autoroute wasn't busy and virtually empty to Le Mans. Only sticky bit was Bordeaux ring road, once we got off the Autoroute the fun really started, French D roads are awesome fun and it was really quiet down there.
