    W212 front coil

I did try that but they say brown ‘x2, green’, where as mine appear to only have one brown one green. Do you know if the dots are usually all together? I’m just thinking if I over looked a dot somewhere else on the spring. Here’s mine: Thanks again.

    W212 front coil

Hi, sorry to hijack the thread, but I’m struggling to find the correct replacement front springs and shocks for my car, 2011 S212 E350 CDi. @alecmascot if I PM you my VIN would you be able to see what the OEM front springs and shocks part numbers are if possible please? My springs look to have...

    Paul aka Ringway

I never met Ringway either, but very much enjoyed reading his posts here. Clearly an intelligent and very well respected gentleman. Beautiful words @RingwayJunior and shows the loving bond you shared. Much love and respect to you and your family at this difficult time. Rest in peace Ringway.

    ADAS

ADAS = Advanced Driver Assistance System. I’m not sure of the in’s and out’s of the wheel alignment with it though.

    What am I missing here?

That’s good it got taken off swiftly. I reported it as it only takes a minute and hope it stops someone getting scammed. I had my eBay account hacked some years ago when I was selling a lot on there (long standing member, thousands of feedback, all positive etc.), not sure how they got my...

    What am I missing here?

It’s a scam. Several bargain price desirable vehicles for sale with the same trademark scam crap description encouraging the victim to directly contact them so sale/scam is completed outside of eBay so no buyer protection, pictures of vehicles all in different locations (pics pinched from other...

What exists on an old car that most people wouldn't recognise today?

The Aussie mk2’s fuel tank was under the boot floor with a hole in the rear panel and boot floor for the filler neck, not 100% sure why, might have been a bigger range tank and for better/lower CG and weight distribution perhaps? They have a blanking ‘cap’ where UK spec cars have the filler for...

    Headlight Washer on

Hi Scouser51, Are you sure your car has headlight washers? I thought they did away with them on the W/S213’s as they say they are no longer required. Is the one flap you see the tow eye cover?

    VINTAGE VOLTAGE

I thought that displaying black and silver plates changed in January 2021, when they changed it only cars manufactured before January 1, 1980 could display the black and silver. It has it changed again? Hard to keep up with it all!

Automatic E250 CDI, no 7th gear, engine warning light... dreading the cost of repair

No probs mate 👍 That’s good to have a trusted garage, especially as it a MB specialist. Yes the iCarsoft is very handy and can be kept in that car for just the kind of situation you were in. I have the iCarsoft and was worth the investment, good for all sensors and airbags etc., and says which...

Automatic E250 CDI, no 7th gear, engine warning light... dreading the cost of repair

Don’t panic Mr Mainwaring! First thing to do is get the fault codes read, otherwise it’s just guesswork. Wouldn’t have thought it’s caused any damage as like you say it’s just the EML not a red ‘stop driving’ message. It does sound similar to a DPF pressure sensor kind of symptom, which is a...

    Completely baffled - help!

I had exactly that on my s212 2 or 3 years back, a rotational rubbing sort of noise, only at speeds above about 30mph, didn’t notice and steering wobble, nothing obvious to see catching, no codes on icarsoft or on dash. I had the mot and service a couple of weeks later and asked them to check...
