    Red shades to avoid

I’ve only been to major dealerships, they seem to be playing ball with them.

    Red shades to avoid

Arranged to test drive another one today, this time a 2020 model. About an hour later the salesman called back; they have withdrawn the car from sale as there are signs of peeling lacquer. Another one off for a full respray at MB’s cost and red definitely off our list of colour options.

    Re: Serpentine belt fitting

I think the point people are trying to make is that the old tensioner has been hacked previously so your socket may not fit that but will fit the new one.

    Red shades to avoid

Went to look at two GLAs today, both Jupiter red. The first one wasn’t at the showroom, it was with MB for a recall to be carried out. I asked the salesman about the paint problem. He openly said that they’ve had a few cars exhibiting it but MB recognised the issue and fixed it as appropriate...

    Red shades to avoid

I’m looking at used, 2018-2020. Is that new enough to avoid problems?

    Red shades to avoid

We’re thinking about getting a GLA and many of the ones for sale are red. Lots of issues are reported regarding problems, is there a definitive list of the shades to avoid?

R230 SL500 Battery issue.... I know, don't roll your eyes!!

If the battery is completely flat, the alternator won’t charge it. You’ll need to put it on a charger to get some volts into it that the alternator can sense.

    C class rear subframe corrosion W204 - 2024 update!

There’s a guy called Dave Evans on one of the SLK forums who has successfully helped many people achieve free replacement, have a search for him. His approach is from a safety perspective though you would need to get the car to the dealer I would think.

Have you tried it with the glow plugs disconnected?

    Cheesed off with your Mercedes?

The backplates rust resulting in the brake shoe (parking brake) retaining pins pulling through. The brake shoes can then move around inside the drum causing it to bind.

    Mercedes parts

My local one has shut its parts counter to the public. A great shame as the guy always gave me a good discount. He left and they haven’t been able to replace him.
