    w124 estate jump seat hinges

suggest you check the rear quarter load window seals (no im not mad), these seem to leak after 20 odd years, letting water into the load bay, rusting the hinges that you have. hope its not but i would check.

    Imported W124 E320 estate - 65K miler

totally agree flat6buster. My excitement at no rust has been expensive....a lesson well learnt. I'm not sure the value of rust free.......but its not 19K.....now an e36 estate with low miles might be a different story?

    Imported W124 E320 estate - 65K miler

im a bit wary of jap Imports. I brought one from a specialist in york recently and its not been as smooth as i would have liked. the positives is the metal work is as new...a major plus, the negative is the cruise control ( unit, and throttle) needed replacing, many rubber parts are beyond there...

What car did you pass your driving test in?

learnt to drive in a micra. Another learner trashed my instructors car the night before. option was to cancel or borrow a car....so i borrowed my freinds daimler double six manual......and was a little surprised at how fast it was....lol. passed even though it was in BL "turd Brown" with...

    Mr. Ian Walker

Totally agree. I live in Cumbria, have had my 124 e 200 serviced the last two years. The plus has been good service at reasonable cost and honest advice. The extra was this year when i thought i had a warped brake disc, Ian informed me it was a worn wheel bearing that just needed adjusting...

    Silent Alarm

exactly same problem as i had. First find your siren, unplug it. it had two screws on the back which opened up to reveal a small circuit board. on this is a battery pack, it is this that has failed. I brought a new battery from ebay for £8 and swapped it ( 6volt 1400 mah). Also i had lost...

Saturday half term is always a night mare, and with the roadworks on the bridge at bristol at the moment you can add an extra hour aswell. I would start early! better early and an afternoon in st ives than not and an afternoon on the M5.

Which tyres are best for your Merc?

try the website mytyres.com - most brands on here have a link to tyretest.com which tests the tyres for wet/dry/snow grip, wear and noise. i find this a great tool when comparing not only premium to premium, but also mid range to premium tyres. sometimes the mid range tyres match or even beat...

W124 moving to Spain - registration hints?

Agree with colin, best option is to get a local company to do it for you as the paperwork is a nightmare and varied. The ITV (mot) will be once a year and the type of reg depends on your residence.....etc etc however your cars value will be worth 50% more and the w124 is as popular as over...
