I never said anything about the front, you assumed that. You can stream video/mirror the screen via Wi-Fi, which the carplay modules use.

I’ve had freeview tv in previous cars that works while in motion, the passengers loved it. Don’t assume because a car has it that the driver is watching!

Video does not work through CarPlay. I believe it is possible via screen mirroring, but I have never tried it. it is also possible with android, but I’ve never owned one of those!

Forget Comand, you don’t need it, and forget those external android screens because they’re crap and crash a lot. The module I linked in post 70 will give you wireless CarPlay and reversing camera input on Audio 20 without a Becker interface. You will need an aux in port to route the audio...

You answered your own question, they are all over 200 quid by quite a lot! Since I got mine you can now get wireless versions. I’ve had mine a few years now and would be lost without it, it was worth every penny

I had it unlocked in my RS4 for years, very handy for passengers with the rear head rest monitors.

It’s an interface, it has inputs for a gimmicky reversing camera too if you like thst sort of thing. I’m trying it out later with a mates android phone to see if android auto is any good and has video unlocked

I’m just sticking to the smaller screen now, I have no interest in comand as it doesn’t offer a single thing of benefit to me, especially now I have Apple CarPlay working on the factory screen
