Completely different animals! S2k beautiful screamer, but far more flighty. SLK feels much more solid and planted. Love them both, but enjoying the change.

You are not missing the point. I was intending to physically check when I got back to the car tonight, but thought I'd ask on here before buying a plug (original is long gone) from Maplins on the way home (just in case I was wasting my time).

Can anyone advise if the auxiliary 12V socket in the passenger footwell of a 2008 SLK is permanently live? I would like to use this for a trickle charger instead of croc clips on the battery terminals.
