Exactly the sort of information i needed thanks So i forgot to write "about" 40 minutes then.. Obviously i don't drive at 90 the moment i leave my house in the small residential roads etc. Thats when i get on the actual motorway.

Mate somethings got to be wrong on that, i have the same engine i believe (i have a facelift 2005 CLK 320 cdi) and i always get around the 400 miles per tank. low 40's mpg... mainly motorway driving.

i would just like to know what someone with this car/engine gets fuel wise on a tank to tank driving approximately 80ish + mph and mainly motorway driving etc

i work early's and i travel 40 miles each way 5days a week, i leave my house at 5am and it takes 40 mins of solid M4 driving to get to work, so my cruise control sits at 90 the whole way everyday. Even the police that i see occasionally who are sat on the side of the motorway don't bother with...

90 mph now. I used to be 80mph as my car is bang on 2000 revs at 80 in 7th gear and the mpg works out pretty decent etc. However, i just want to get the journey commute part to work done as quickly as possible these days so recently I've been doing 90.

I have always used camskill tyres and find them great. I usually try to find the cheapest tyre with the best rating eg. BB, CB, BC. ive found that sometimes the "unknown" budget brand is often a sub division company from a well known tyre brand company after some research.

thanks for the reply, I'm not too worried about the ride and power etc. i literally drive like a granny these days and constantly try to get the best mpg. However, i don't want to substitute the speed element.
