    diesel tuning boxes - thoughts?

Stevehg I used setting 4+1 (boost connected too) and it was unbelievably quicker....really noticeable. Then it went into limp mode....DOH! I believe Map 4 is mainly fuelling only and not boost when looking at the printout that came with the unit, correct me if im wrong, so may give 4+1 a go...

    diesel tuning boxes - thoughts?

Stevehg Heard this quite a bit that the 250 has been well tuned in the first instance where a tuning box tips it over the acceptable parameters. especially the boost setting which has about all the limits already safely squeezed out. Funny enough it is the same unit from DTUK for the E200...

    diesel tuning boxes - thoughts?

One which works and is warranted is the Brabus, however only up to 30hp for a heap lot of cash. Others advertise up to 50hp...! I fitted a DTUK unit to my E250 many months back and had it on pretty much every setting. Basically limp mode arrived every time....some settings instantly some...

    Rear end traction

Owned the car since new 9 mths ago no kerbs drive like a saint. The car really drives like a dream all of the time. Unless the roads are wet...! Just greasy road and poor stupidly & hugely wide 275/30/19 tyres with 50% tread wear To be honest tyre wear very even. Not a big fan of rear wheel...

    Rear end traction

Tyres came with the 19 inch wheels and I always intended on replacing them just not so soon However new set being fitted this week. Always liked kuhmo ecstas so may look for some reviews on them for wet.

    Rear end traction

Mind you I used to carry a bag of cement around in the boot of those cars to help keep the back down. :-)

    Rear end traction

When I said just above markers they're not near level maybe 2mm or so over and only serviced last month and advised tyres were fine. No throttle when it went at all just constant throttle and straightening up slowly. Owned quite a few quick rear drive cars in my youth e30 m3, 944 s2, 131...

    Rear end traction

Didn't notice esp kick in but I assume it must have played its part. Lots of quick crossing arms seemed to keep the twitchy bottom settled. Reminded me if years old in mk2 escort harrier and 131 racing fiats.

    Rear end traction

Tyres are not due but getting close to markers so think a new pair to be safe. If put it down to the wide tyres and slippy roads. Trust me 60 is fine for the very slow bend, prob closer to 55 to be fair. As soon as I straightened out a little it went.

    Rear end traction

On approaching the m6 today from a sliproad, long slow bend approaching 60mph and just about to straighten up the back end totally stepped out in a flash. E250 cab 63 plate auto amg line. Appreciate it was wet but was taking it relatively easy feathering the accelerator. Same speed as before in...

Just drop the car with them when shopping in the city and pick it up later fully valeted. Nice...

Dont know about other towing folk but my 4 x 3 camping trailer has never put any stress on my previous car, probably weighs less than 3 adult occupants...! Neither has driving almost at 60mph each time its used give nthe car a hard life..! Or staying out of the fast lane, because im not allowed...

Can someone confirm if these style of alloys are diamond cut

You can get them refinished as diamond cut but it depends on the level of damage as they have to basically re-lathe/cut the face again.

Can someone confirm if these style of alloys are diamond cut

I refurbed the edges on mine and primed painted and lacquered them. Fair effort wet n dry lots of work but really happy with the finish. If it had not have come out well if have had them powder coated in a bright silver finish. Don't really like the diamond cut high maintenance finish.
