    NTG3.5 Navigation on W221

I didn't go ahead with this in the end - partly out of idleness, partly I'm not sure how much I want to modify the car as opposed to putting my phone in a cradle for better navigation. The thought hasn't gone away though so please let me know if you go ahead and how it works.

    NTG3.5 Navigation on W221

Thanks, Richard. When you say that you must completely use the CarPlay system, are you able to switch back and forth between the COMAND and CarPlay, or is this a one way update? I am also presuming that there is still no upgrades or alternatives to the original navigation system. Graeme

    NTG3.5 Navigation on W221

So, most of us know that the latest and last update to the navigation system on NTG3.5 is the 2015 version, which by now is considerably out of date (and more so in Europe where they appear to be building more roads than UK). I see that Braybrooks are offering an upgrade which allows Apple...

    W221 rear diffuser

The rear diffuser of my S63 has been bumped and deflected enough to come away from the retaining clips/brackets, as shown on the attached (but not great) photo (Nice reflection of garage door, though). Can anyone tell me how this is attached or how to refix properly? Thanks .

    W221 S63 battery question

Early this year, when the weather was at its coldest, I went away for 4 weeks, leaving the car in it’s normal place outside. No surprise then to come back and find that the battery hadn’t enough power to turn over the 5.5 v8 engine. Nice Engineer came out, jump started the car and declared the...

    Servicing in Europe

Thanks for the help, people. I don't know what the actual UK main dealer rate is , or whether it varies from one region to another, as I tend to use an independant. I think I shall send a message to MB in Portugal ad get a quote as I shall be there for a while in October. Always good to...

    Servicing in Europe

Might be a silly question - has anyone had a service/repair done in Germany, if so how do the costs compare with UK?

    Thoughts on MB service plans?

I found some detail here A Service & B Service Visits Explained at Mercedes-Benz of Denver although I still don't understand why I can get more detail from the USA than I can in England.

    Thoughts on MB service plans?

I go for a mix and match approach. Mercedes contract for basic servicing and warranty maintenance etc (less than £40 per month on 2012 S63), but anything found on a report, go to independent - DDR in Ashtead, all Merc trained and Merc parts, but lower rates.

    Driving In Europe

Hadn't thought of that, but will definitely bear in mind in future. Also, if you want to move SANEF tag to another vehicle, or have multiple tags (ie France and Portugal), get some heavy duty "velcro" like strips as used in America. One on the screen, one on the back of each transponder and...

Driving in Europe - headlight adjustment for W221?

That's my solution, and hope I never get asked to change a bulb on the spot by some gendarme!

    Driving In Europe

Just a thought... Anyone using the Eurotunnel to go to France and concerned about the width of carriages and metal curbs (particularly with wide cars, nice alloys and low profile tyres) - book yourself in as a high (over 1.85m) vehicle. No extra charge and if you don't mind travelling with...

Driving in Europe - headlight adjustment for W221?

And another thing... How do others get around the issue of carrying a set of spare bulbs when driving in Europe? Xenon and LED bulbs not easily replaceable, less accessible and harder to buy but technically illegal not to carry them :wallbash:
