Thanks Alfie, which fuse box is it under. I'm guessing then a second hand one won't be worthwhile as I can't code it. My only hope really is to remove the module and see if theres any corrosion on the pins etc that might be causing the drain

Thanks Ted for the reply, to be honest we are thinking very much the same way as long as the car gets a drive once a week, it should be fine really. It is a newish battery less than 6 months old. Whilst it is not really causing a problem as it doesnt effect the use of the car it maybe best left...

Hi, I have looked everywhere online etc and no luck! Does anyone know where the gateway control module is on a mercedes C class c200 w203 (its a 54 plate) ? Bonus points if you can tell me what it does and whether it needs coding to the car if i get a new or second hand one. Many thanks

Thanks but I don't think the leaked "stuff" would clean up very well? And probably damaged the board underneath so don't know if it's worth risking and then have it draining. I did it as a curiousity to see if it was fixable more than anything else

I've been chasing a drain on my w203 also and unfortunately the only real reliable way of narrowing it down is by testing the fuses for a draw. In my research. Common areas are alarm ( seems to be related to fuse 8 in boot) interior dome lights and light ( fuse 9 in the boot) seats memory ones...

After seeing a thread elsewhere about the alarm battery's I thought its not working anyways so I had nothing to lose by opening it up. I'm no electrician but im reasonably sure this one is past repair ! It's worth a go to look as the batteries don't look impossible to replace if the leaking and...
