    W203 idiot 20 - do I have fibre optics?

Lol. Just realised I mistyped audio without 'a' which iPhone read it as idiot. How appropriate for how I was feeling at the time :-) Anyway, I had a go connecting it up in the dark, and it worked just fine. I don't know what function the fibre optics were wired in to do on audio 20, but...

    W203 idiot 20 - do I have fibre optics?

No cd changer. Single cd is all I had which is the reason for the change. I have an adaptor between the car and stereo with steering control adaptor as well. I'll have another go tomorrow. It's getting a bit dark now

    W203 idiot 20 - do I have fibre optics?

Thanks. So I should still be able to just connect the harness, no head unit should work, right?

    W203 idiot 20 - do I have fibre optics?

Having done some research on audio upgrade on my w203, I've been convinced I don't have Bose upgrade, hence no fibre optics, and I've since bought a Pioneer HU with all the right harness and leads to replace audio 20. I took apart the dashboard this afternoon, only to find the dreaded orange...

    Non-fault accident

That's a bit scary! But if I keep getting a luxurious loan car for a period of time, I wouldn't mind it so much :)

    Non-fault accident

Thanks guys. I've appointed my own MB approved bodyshop, who isn't insurance company approved, so totally independent, and assured me that they will strip it all down to ensure the car will be all stripped down to inspect all the boot panel, chassis and all the behind the scene damages will be...

    Non-fault accident

Yeah, I will only go through MB dealer approved bodyshop. I'm talking to Tamworth and Central to see who can fit me in quicker for a repair. Jules - thanks for the insight. Really useful. In this case, the third party insurance company (Admiral) already contacted me to admit liability of...

    Decent bodyshop in Birmingham

Thanks Den. I work down the road from WDM, but they don't deal in bodywork, and while they could refer me to another company, they were a general bodyshop, not MB approved or anything, unfortunately :(

Ha ha, totally didn't expect that!

    Non-fault accident

It's worrying me a bit more now :( rather than go through the third party insurance, perhaps I should go through my insurance to make sure my best interests are cared for. Any opinions?

    Decent bodyshop in Birmingham

Hi all. Following my earlier thread and a sound advise from neilrr, I'm now in search of a decent bodyshop in Birmingham. Can anyone recommend somewhere you have had good dealings with? I'm in Sutton Coldfield, so would prefer "this" side of Birmingham, if possible. Many thanks.

    Non-fault accident

Really? There's a (genuine) surprise! I'd have thought they'd only approve proper bodyshops, to be honest.

    Non-fault accident

Thanks, Stratman and Ringway. My car will only go to MB approved bodyshop - I made sure of that, in exchange for not going via my insurance company's appointed accident management company, which would hike up their costs. As for hire car, I'm not too fussed as long as I get a reasonable estate...
