I can’t stand tennis but the lass has done very well indeed, I just wish the media would lay off her a bit and let her develop fully

    5exy leadwork.

This thread brings back memories of my first job in an office. In the late 70’s the company was working on ,at the time, the biggest lead lining contract in Europe on the Eldon Square shopping complex in Newcastle. One of the plumbers actually won an award for his workmanship. I remember the...

    EV powered by coal?

So the solution is to install a lamp post every 4.5 m or so ? Your photo shows approximately 40 charging points yet it doesn’t show how many cars “reside” in that area. A range of 200 miles means everyone will only be able to travel half the length of a small country, not much use really. Im not...

    EV powered by coal?

That seems to be a default end of discussion answer and it’s not so. I can go half a mile from my home and see street upon street of terraced houses, mostly flats, with cars parked bumper to bumper and I can’t conceivably see a solution to getting them all charged over night. If there’s a plan...

    EV powered by coal?

I think you grossly underestimate the number of people who don’t live in an urban area notwithstanding the many urban dwellers who don’t have easy access to the facilities you mention

I think people who live in rural and semi-rural areas will strongly disagree

You’ll not see this either. While we’re being brow beaten into reducing our 1% contribution to the World’s pollution China carries on https://www.powerengineeringint.com/coal-fired/china-reopening-coal-mines-to-meet-accelerating-demand/

Do you still get a daily pint of milk allowance for working with lead?

    Lorry Driver Shortage

Now they are saying the winter flu jab may be delayed through a lack of HGV drivers. They don’t say if it’s on the supply or delivery side however there are plenty LWB 3t’s about, have they never heard of Dunkirk ? Expect the winter flu jab to be more expensive to the NHS this year !

    Lorry Driver Shortage

Probably because there’s been very few apprenticeships given out in the last couple of decades so the demand for courses wasn’t worthwhile for the colleges. Having said that I’ve known a number of top class tradesmen that never went near a classroom.

    Lorry Driver Shortage

Yes. Them and the big house building and construction companies who haven’t employed enough school leavers to serve their time

    Lorry Driver Shortage

I find it unbelievable that the major supermarkets, among others, who’s business relies predominantly on the transportation of goods don't train their own drivers and prefer to rely on 3rd parties
