Hi all,
I've been reading quite a few threads on here and other places about people taking their C class (and other affected models) for defective rear subframe replacements courtesy of MB.
mine is pretty crispy so I asked someone I know who works at a dealership about it, they said they do...
Hi all,
I've had an issue on my W204 twice now, last year the A/C would occasionally turn itself off by flashing the red light three times then going off. It didn't do it every time, just occasionally. I took it to my (now sadly closed) local Merc specialist and they regassed it, they didn't...
Sorry I've never managed to get it fixed, I asked someone I know who works at a Merc dealer and they said it couldn't be fixed, although I have seen people elsewhere say it's possible at a dealer....
hi all,
In the year I've owned my Merc I've been taking it to Elite Independent in Elland, who were excellent and reasonable, and only a short walk from my workplace. They have sadly suddenly closed. Does anyone have a recommendation for a specialist or a trusted garage that works with Mercedes...
I'm sure it's not as bad as some, but I have to disagree - it's bad for me, it requires constant steering effort, and it didn't happen before. It's massively detracting from the pleasure of owning the car and it needn't be. Funnily enough it seems to be worse at low speeds, moving along in...
The fronts are called RoadX, but I did have the Falken all seasons on there at first as the fronts needed replacing second. However the pull didn't start after replacing the tyres, it reared its head after alignment. It drove fine with old worn bridgestones as well
yeah, fair point, I won't be using them again. I was hoping the pros would get it back to how it was first time, but I'll give them another chance and update the thread if I get some good news.
Re mixed tyres and insurance I'll take the risk, not that I see it as such. Many threads online...
I appreciate your contribution and assume you weren't trying to derail the convo, but I've actually had this tyre combo on in snow recently, and it drove beautifully. Couldn't make it slide unless I really tried (on a safe, quiet business estate where I work) and even then that was at worse...
several people have been kind enough to tell me that, but that's not what we're talking about here is it? Never mind the fact that after getting them fitted it didn't pull, that started after alignment! and never mind the fact various garages and mechanics have told me it's not a big deal....
oh yeah don't get me wrong, I've read all the way through that - the fella from WIM states repeatedly that excessive left pull with camber can be sorted. It must be fixable, as (as I've kept repeating) my car did not used to do it until I had KwikFit do the alignment. I don't have the slotted...
Cheers Phil, I'm hoping that will cure it but 99% sure it won't - as the wheels with these tyres were on the rear before, with all seasons on the front, and the pull was the same. I'll do it all the same to rule it out though, I'm all for the scientific approach
I won't name names as the issue hasn't been resolved yet and I haven't got back in touch with them, I certainly don't mean to be dragging anyone's name through the mud and it wouldn't be fair not to give them another chance. The person working on it was a professional who clearly knew his stuff...
Thanks for the contributions all, pretty sure the part fitted was a Lemforder, the Merc specialist I take it to always use genuine parts but they suggested a third party one for that arm as they've used it to good effect before - IIRC it comes fitted with the bush / bearing or something.
The...
