Answer your email here. Every model year M103 oil filter housings are plug `n play on M104. I did use the Mocal kit shown in this topic. The sandwich plate you see in these pics on M103 housing is the original one. I did swap that with the one in the Mocal kit.

Have any of you figured out why these tubes are in 250CE and not in 280CE? I needed to remove them and I'm now thinking should I make some reinforcements an where. Not that I've noticed anything strange yet, but...

Indeed! If you can source an early model (mine is -93) they also have under-piston oil squirters. People in the know say that Mercedes policy was to make the first versions of a model to high specs and then reduce the features in later models for cost saving purposes ;) I did not face any...

No mods needed. You need to source the engine from right model. There are three different oil pans on M104. I believe these were the models W202, W124, W140, R129. Mine was from W124 Wagon. :j
