    I think it was F2 - 7.5 Amp, inside the ECU box. No other faults apparent.

    I tried this for a laugh, plastic plant pot over the handle and fired the key through the hole in the bottom and now it works in the daytime aswell. Can't recommend this as a permanent solution and the flower pot looks ungainly on the key ring

    The Snap-on will show the MAF and the EGR valve, the MODUS shows live outputs aswell can't remember if it had the pressure sensor. My MAF was 0v and it picked up the fault code correctly, the STAR would not work as the 7.5 fuse next to the ECU had blown - no Engine control relay so no ignition...

    Checked the battery voltage this morning, 12.04v and 14.01v charging so it seems not to be a battery drainage issue. Anyone know what computer controls this feature?

    W210 dash lights

    Thanks for the guide, just did my W210 and I had to remove the lower panel as well as it was very tight. Now I can see the time & which gear its in. £2.99 for a bulb, it would be expensive to do a Christmas tree.

    Yes, I did the infa red thing up close. After a drive it works ok which makes me suspect the battery (car) is losing capacity when parked.

    Checked at the MAF sensor - no input voltage. Managed to find a wiring diagram and the supply comes from the Engine Control Relay, which also provides the ignition signal that the STAR was looking for.
