Hiya Happytalk, does yours have the Renault engine? Our 116, just approaching 16 months old, just short of 50k on the clock, had its first service at 27500 miles, according to the clock it should get to 56k before it's second service. I too was led to believe 24k or 2 years for service...

We too have it as a factory option, find it very handy if passenger opens the door as the windows are closing, with the key removed from ignition, or now its getting a bit warmer just to drop the windows a tad to let some air in. Mark

Me too Bill, but as our V6 only has 36 k on the clock and is almost in as good condition as when we bought it 41/2 years ago, you will not see me in a VW for a while. We have a 116 w447 auto, its very good but, the V6 is just something else. Mark

Check that the plates on the back of the sliders, where the sliding part of the caliper bolts on are sat correctly in the recess, had exactly same problem with one of ours, was waiting for.them to bed in, before they had pads were worn away, so don't wait too long. Mark

Ha ha, love the banter, only got a little 116 for my work van, however, got a V6 sport x as my car, love the V6, and will not be changing it for a while, then again I might swop it for renault trafic sport, erm don't think so!!!! Do agree that the 447 is a more modern place to be tham the 639...

They all have chrome around the dials, not sure about air vents, something tells me not, overhead panel is LED so it must be that one!!! KoFidee, did you just fit the spot lamp surrounds or did you fit the lights as well? Mark

It is, and you can get loads in it too. A few things I miss from the old one, pens used to go in front of clocks, new ones got a.bump in middle so they slide off, wipers.and washes, especially in this weather, at motorway speeds on old.one you got water at the wipers, sometimes water doesn't...

From reading mb are swopping from v6 to straight 6, starting with s class now, straight 6 is a brand new engine, fingers crossed for the 447. Left hand key is no problem, people say the cruise stick is in the way, don't find that, but we have adjustable steering column, may make a difference...
