I just sold my v reg one with 22K miles for _considerably less_ and it was beautiful !!

I'll keep you posted as to how the A2 1.4 TDI measures up.. they quote 70mpg.. but I'm not convinced..

I used to have a Lupo 1.7.. similar story.. my Gran drives it now and literally fills it up every 2 months !! Fab little cars

The other thing to consider is the age - because of the road tax going up.. so getting a pre 2001 model might be an advantage in some ways .. if you can get a low mileage example..

I've been keeping a very close eye on the market at the mo - I know mine is prob out of your price range.. but I'd say it's worth spending a bit extra if you can, to get a nice low mileage one..there are a few around the 9k mark :)

I don't have a garage - I think if I did would keep the slk for sunny days but Iive in Liverpool and she's already had the indicator unit nicked by some scally..

I'd probably get one which was 01/02 reg.. worked out the insurance, fuel etc (the 1.4 tdi does 60MPG) and it would save me about a grand a year.. the cruncher was the idea of having a little un.. no room in marilyn (the slk) for that :(
