    Flappy paddles.

They would be very useful if you could force an early upshift at WOT. Unfortunately, you can't. They're quite good for getting increased engine braking, but otherwise not much use...

What do YOU watch on TV

Rumour has it that the scriptwriters were still "making-up" the end whilst the series was actually airing.... You'd need mind-altering drugs in that situation.

    Mercedes GLE 350d 2018 vibration

My next guess would be a Drive shaft CVJ. Can you identify which direction the vibration comes from, or at least front/back?

    Mercedes GLE 350d 2018 vibration

Do you feel any pulsing through the brakes when it happens?

    GL X164 vibration

Always suspect the item you've fiddled with last. One or more of the new wheel weights fallen off? The rumble around 60mph is most likely the front diff bearings. Change the oil, fit a magnetic sump plug and live with it.......probably wont't get any worse after that. IIRC £3.99 on Ebay for...

    RIP Eddie Van Halen

Well, I quite like the convenience of being able to flush the toilet and not worry too much about what happens after, but I wouldn't want a Sh1t Farm for a next-door neighbour...... I feel the same about "musicians".

    RIP Eddie Van Halen

It IS if you're a Rock N Roller....snorting huge quantities of recreational substances and shaggin' backstage nubiles 4 at a time is hardly likely to bag you a long and healthy retirement..... I'm as jealous as hell! Kid 68

    RIP Eddie Van Halen

Much as I love the video of "Jump" for it's good-humoured sing-alongness, these days I'm starting to look upon Axemen as the dinosaurs of the music world, and I'm not surprised they have faded into the history books.. As Geoff Beck (the guitarist's guitarist) noted in an interview a while...

    Thinking of buying a 2007 ML 63

When I was looking around for what eventually became my 320, I REALLY wanted the 63, but in several months, none came up on the market at all.. I've found the 320 to be "quick enough" when I mash it, but I don't find myself mashing it that often, so I probably picked the right car after all...

"Accoustic cameras" to fine noisy vehicles

Presumably, like Speed Cameras, there is a requirement to display a notice warning drivers of the Noise cameras? If so, then don't mash it when passing them......simples!

I changed my oil using the Lidl oil extractor

It doesn't take much black oil to make all the clean new stuff black as well... it IS a diesel, after all. It's only suspended particles of carbon, there are much worse elements to have in your oil! Don't worry about it....

Does it have to cost the earth

Most likely the seal to the Oil cooler in the "V". It's 99% labour, if you don't fancy getting yourself greasy, shop around. Or.........put in a few more hours at work and pay what he quoted...

    WD40

baxlin, yes they had quite surprising car-fixing technology in 1970 (it was the mooonshot age, after-all) but they didn't work very well then either... Much like torque wrenches, which "proper" mechanics see as an excuse to question your sexuality. And yes, my own torque wrench sits unused and...

    WD40

I was just thinking about a bit of scaffold pole over the spanner, or angle-grind it off, but as far as making a rusty bolt easier to undo with low viscosity oil, forget it! Never had any luck with my Impact driver or blowtorch either..... But I've only been wielding spanners on cars for 50...

    WD40

If you refer to Releasing fluid as something that makes a stiff rusty bolt easier to undo once you've got it moving, then GT85 works way better than WD40. If it's for freeing up bolts that are rusted solid, then NOTHING works (in my experience). You will have to resort to more brutal means..
