Thanks for the reply. I have gone onto various comparison sites but they seem to think I have got full fibre- which of course I haven't. The fibre cable near my house owned by a Northern Ireland company who don't seem to have a tie up with the bigger UK wide companies.

I am having a strange problem. If I phone a number and after I have ended the call , a while later if I try to phone the same number again, I get a message ' number not recognized-contact the operator'. I am at a loss as to how re-phoning a number , it later becomes unavailable.
