Exactly. The manufacturer fits the more powerful anp, sticks some logo'd up speaker covers on and pockets a huge margin. They're not all like that; the HK in my 211 was great. But a lot are.

Yes, but there's a mini-industry of installer finning Morels or Focals to these branded systems and making a huge difference. Like I say, the HK brand sometimes means HK amp + factory speakers. Which is a dreadful set up. Same for other manufacturers/brands.

It's usually more to with manufacturers sticking a premium amp in but keeping the standard shitty paper cone speakers.

I test drove a W210 E55 immediately before driving and buying the C43 and extra power and torque from the 5.5 was very noticeable.

That's my first C43. Someone else on here also owned it at one point. I ran it from 2003 to 2006 then replaced it with a C43 estate.

loft Years ago I had to go London => Oxon => Norfolk in some seriously blizzardy conditions. Ditched the C43 (chocolate teapot) and jumped in the wife's Clio. It was perfect. Small, light, fwd, skinny tyres. All you need.

If that's your fundamental problem you need to get out of a diesel and into a petrol. Petrols hit operating temp far quicker. My wife's Fiat 500 starts blowing warm air in 200yds, is at operating temp in under a mile. My E Class takes a bit longer but not much. Diesels take for ever to get...

Lots of threads on this - search on "airmatic". Usual suspects are level sensors, compressor or leaks in lines/valve block/air springs.

I test drove an E350 (V6 Petrol) when I was looking for my current car and I absolutely loved the sound it made - quite different from a V8 as you say.
