    W212 E63 AMG - 65 Plate - Rear Air Spring Issue ?

Thanks guys ! Picked it up today. Drove back to central London from Epsom and the car seems a lot smoother than previously...(obviously I have to factor out the courtesy car and placebo effects of the 'fix/repair') but I am sticking with the feeling of an improved ride. I'll see if it has...

    W212 E63 AMG - 65 Plate - Rear Air Spring Issue ?

Hey All, So by way of a mini update, I finally dropped my car off at MB Epsom on Wednesday 3rd for its investigation / repair of the rear suspension issue. They very kindly gave a me C300 Cabriolet. Quite like it actually ! It was literally brand new, they were fixing its first set of number...

    Tyre time...E63

Perhaps....not for me though. Do you mean 295 fit fine but 285 fit perfectly ?

    Tyre time...E63

I'll be going for Michelin Pilot Super Sport (PSS) in MO spec on my E63 W212 Facelift. Had them on my previous car, BMW M6 GC, and they seemed to grip a bit better than my factory supplied Pirelli P Zero (albeit the Michelin PSS were also factory supplied by BMW, a bit of a luck of the draw...

    Gear for overtaking at 40mph

One way to look at is if you are overtaking a 40mph dawdler in a 60mph zone, and if you are going to overtake without exceeding 60mph limit, then I'd assume one would only overtake when there is plenty of space available. In 2nd gear you should be from 40mph to 60mph in 2 secs or less. When...

    W212 E63 AMG - 65 Plate - Rear Air Spring Issue ?

Haha no problems and thanks !! Yes the air expulsion is urgent to say the least ! :) Yes I suppose the rear ride height dropping could be over looked by most people. But I really do think the magnitude of the drop on my car seems quite evident....having said that if I were rushing to my car...

    W211 E63 first post

Here you go buddy : Lovely cars ! I do quite like the SUPER undercover look of a W211 E63....which essentially has a, pretty much never to be seen again, high output, large capacity, normally aspirated engine. If people think its a taxi, wedding car etc so be it.... If they don't...

    E63 deposit paid

If it was genuinely a crank case breathing / pressure issue, the over pressurising may well have blown the seal at that low point on the cam cover, as pointed out by your RED arrows. However something tells me they should have ALSO replaced part #20 which I believe is the actual oil separator...

    W212 E63 AMG - 65 Plate - Rear Air Spring Issue ?

Thanks and actually I know Terry and Wayne Gates. He recently fitted my MB rear pads and discs that I supplied him with, on this E63. He has actually also done a few A and B services on my hardly ever used E Class Coupe. Very good outfit indeed ! However on the E63 for diagnosing and...

    W212 E63 AMG - 65 Plate - Rear Air Spring Issue ?

Affalterbach, we have a problem ! So I used masking tape, not necessarily to measure, but to see how evident this drop was. Before : NSR OSR AFTER !! : NSR OSR Without taking measurements the OSR seems to suffer slightly more than the NSR. Anyway there is a clear issue...

Woahhh ! That looks back to factory fresh looking, if not even better most probably ! The colour really pops ! Well done indeed ! It must be so cool blasting around in a near 600HP estate car!

    W212 E63 AMG - 65 Plate - Rear Air Spring Issue ?

Yes exactly ! Masking tape is a great idea thanks. I was actually editing my original post to add another photo and point out taking measurements was the way forwards.

    W212 E63 AMG - 65 Plate - Rear Air Spring Issue ?

Thanks for sharing ! What you say makes a lot of sense. I think on the couple of times I really noticed a rear ride height drop, it was after about 36/48 hours of having it parked up. Generally the car lies idle for about about 16/20 hours or so after parking up. This a photo of it today...
