230ce (petrol), pretty sure it does come off. The replacement pump does not have one fitted and it has brackets to attach it. Just not sure how I remove it.

Yes, as far as I can see nothing is bolted to hold the fan clutch onto the water pump. Is it held on with anything else, or just friction and I need to tap it off ?

Does anyone know what bolts are used to attach the front exhaust heat shield to the underside ? I am missing one and it’s rattling on the exhaust. Car is a 84’230CE kind Regards

Beru Cap, Bosch arm and BBT plug Wires. All from eurocarparts

fixed the misfire, #4 was not quite clicked onto the distributor cap. All going fine..

Replaced the Cap, Arm and Leads...all is running. Seems to be fine but i still have a slight misfire on occasion. Also the rattle from the centre of the exhaust still. Thanks all

Thats fine, £66 for a new cap, arm and leads is fine with me. Looking through the service history / receipts I can see that the cap was last replaced in 2002 @ 146k.

These is the distributer cap and rotor, I also have a sound clip of the rough startup. Mercedes Mercedes Let me try and upload that as well.

Thanks I will have a look, my other thought was perhaps the Fuel Pump relay.
