    Question on oil level

Damage to the cat was exactly what I was worried about. (Yes, I checked it on a level surface). I'm on my fourth cat so I know how much these cost. Thanks for the info. I'll take it back tomorrow.

    Question on oil level

Picked my SLK320 (2001) after the B service and it looks like the oil is over-filled. The level seems well over the max indicator. Why can't they get this right for £500 and what are the consequences of running the car like this?

    What is your favourite beer?

Greene King Abbot ale - but it's got to be from a barrel. The cans are not the same. It's also got to be well kept. Then it's the best beer you'll ever find.

    Am I Missing Something?

Except that now only the seller who started the auction can tell who wants to buy this type of product. It used to be that anyone had access to a list of potential buyers.

    Am I Missing Something?

It's the buyer who needs protection against shill bidding - not the seller.

    Am I Missing Something?

I think ebay didn't like the fact that sellers could contact bidders down the chain and sell them items similar to what they were bidding on without paying ebay a fee. So in order that ebay get more money we have now lost just about the only way of having a chance of detecting shill bidding...

    Eubank arrested

I agree entirely. I think the banner said something to the effect that Prince Harry shouldn't be sent to Iraq to justify Blair's illegal war. What on earth has that got to do with the police? Ther eis something seriously wrong here. I personally think Eubank is a great character. He was also...

    indie in Herts

I've used him a couple of times. He's absolutely excellent - a bloke you can have complete confidence in. His number is 07973193575.

Man charged with murder and rape

The idea of a penal colony was a very good one - it's a pity we can no longer send our most prolific criminals to Australia. The trouble is that nowadays, with our border controls, it doesn't matter where you send them - they'll be back in about a week. I remember a few years ago some bright...

    Anyone offer some Pension advice?

The tax relief you get with a normal pension is at source so all the relief goes into your pension fund. With the SIPP the extra 18% is given back to you in cash. This is a BIG difference as anyone who understands pensions will tell you. The other difference between a SIPP and a company...

    Anyone offer some Pension advice?

Gucci, one thing you need to be aware of is that the rules on pensions changed radically last April - remarkably enough for the better. You can now hold any number of pensions you want, so you can have a pension with your employer and a personal pension. It's often a good idea to take a company...

Man charged with murder and rape

The trouble with statistics, Glojo, is that they can be very misleading. It would be interesting to see a breakdown of what these Saudis are in jail for. You need to bear in mind that in countries where there is zero tolerance to crime people tend to be jailed for a long time for offences that...

Man charged with murder and rape

Your experience seems to be different from mine. I spent several months living in Dubai and there seemed to be an almost complete absence of crime. People left their Mercs in the car park with the engine running to keep the a/c on. In the time I was there I read of only two crimes in the paper -...

Man charged with murder and rape

Yes, the expert did stand by his opinion and was exonerated of all blame for the judgement eventually - I think he then retired. But the fact was that he stated that the statistical probability of these children both dying from natural causes (i.e.cot death) was one in several million. He hadn't...

Man charged with murder and rape

That's true - even one case is too many - but justice is never going to be perfect, like everything else. It's certainly biased very heavily in favour of the defendant as anyone who's done jury service knows. The phrase "beyond reasonable doubt" is often very hard to satisfy for 12 people and...
