How to import a Google maps route to COMAND

Hi Jac, I've replied by email. Your Basecamp gpx file had 35 via points which exceeded my program's internal limit of 30 via points. I've sent you a modified version with the limit increased to 50, which works when I run it against your file. Hope this helps. Regards, Malcolm

    NTG4.7 Mirrorlink

If you have an Android phone that supports screen mirroring, then it's possible to run Android Auto on your phone and mirror the screen & sound via a Miracast dongle such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B077QH87FC/?tag=amazon0e9db-21 and an HDMI to RCA such as this...

    Mercedes me Adapter

Just a word of warning regarding the Mercedes Me adapter app. I have been running this app on an Android phone and found that it is consuming an excessive amount of battery (around 30% in my case). That's taken from Android Settings > Battery. The app continues to run as a background service on...

How do I get speed cameras on my Satnav??

It would be nice to think so. However I suspect this functionality has been removed because the use of speed camera POIs is illegal in some countries. My guess it that it has gone for good. As far as I know, several other European manufacturers haven't offered this function for some time -...

How do I get speed cameras on my Satnav??

Sorry Nick, you are out of luck. The functionality to load Personal POIs from SD card has been removed from NTG 5.5 on the new E class. There's no menu option to do this on your version of Comand. Sad but true. Currently for other 2017 cars with Comand, such as the kkudi's GLA, if you get stuck...

Comand online: SD card & POI & Routes

Answering my own post. It seems that the 2017 models with NTG 5.x require the ignition to be on, or car started, before importing POI or Route information. This is in contrast to earlier NTG 4.5 or 4.7 models which will import when Comand is switched on, even if ignition is off.

Comand online: SD card & POI & Routes

Looking for some help please. Some recent versions of Comand have the option to load Personal POIs from SD card and also to load or save routes. For both POIs and routes, this functionality requires gpx files of the correct format to be copied to the SD card in specific folders (this is...

SD Card issues with Comand Online on GLA 220d

    >> Is there a way to definitively check I'm on NTG 5.5? Not that I'm aware of. I guess your local Merc dealer could tell you.

SD Card issues with Comand Online on GLA 220d

Email sent with attached gpx file that works in my car. Yes, the gpx file has to be in a folder called PersonalPOI on the SD card.

SD Card issues with Comand Online on GLA 220d

I've heard reports that the new E class with NTG 5.5 no longer has an option to import Personal POIs. Interesting that yours does at least still have the option available. So there might be a problem with your gpx file. I'd get another gpx file - the smallest available - and try that. If you...

SD Card issues with Comand Online on GLA 220d

Looks fine. You might try putting a couple of MP3 music files on the card to see if you can play them through the Comand. If so, then the SD card is obviously OK. If not then the card is the problem, perhaps you could try formatting it on another computer.

SD Card issues with Comand Online on GLA 220d

It might be that Comand is having problems reading that specific SD card. What's the capacity of the card? If it's high capacity SDXC then you might have better luck with a lower capacity SDHC card.
