    Wax recommendations please

'Harley's once a month with sonax in between' Not having a pop at the poster above, who may very well like doing the car every 2 weeks, but I would rather be driving it ! There are some brilliant wax products that will last for months, up to 6 months, dont cost the earth and save you so much...

    A good question

£80 for a machine polish is the sort that leaves holograms all over your bodywork, an optional extra no known manufacturer offers at the initial point of sale, but which seems quite popular. Like T5R+ above, I'd rather leave my car dirty than have my time and cash investment ruined on ANY of...

Ceramic coating, is it worth it?

I'd also recommend a ceramic coating over wax given your medical issue. Simply, you wont need to apply any coating for several years. The Aqua Gleem filter is a very expensive solution to enter 'no drying utopia'. Its main problem is that its not refillable, so the expensive hardware is...

Ceramic coating, is it worth it?

George talks some good sense here, and I agree with him on ceramics not being suited to classics, as the work required to get them to a suitable state may be too great or not even possible, and changing the state of the car is not necessarily a good idea - 'original paint' isn't 'original' if...

Ceramic coating, is it worth it?

I have some experience of ceramic coatings, being a trained detailer for the Kenotek Ceramic Shield product for over 18 months, though apart from bits of my own car, I haven't done a complete car. The time and kit required, and therefore the costs, depend to a large extent on: a) the product...

Should I avoid dealer Diamondbrite free paint protection?

I agree with the above - the less the dealer does the better, in 20 minutes round the back of the shiny showroom they can cause hundreds of pounds worth of damage Ask them to just take the plastic off and leave it for your detailer to treat properly.

Valeting your car in Milton Keynes? Think twice before...

I have never let anyone wash any of my cars for the last 12+ years (apart from twice). I would rather they were dirty than take it anywhere that sold its services on price. I get great satisfaction from doing it myself, when I want it, using the level of products I'm happy with. I agree with...

Valeting your car in Milton Keynes? Think twice before...

Lets just get this right - you paid £95 for the exterior paintwork, wheels and a full interior valet ? 'When you pay £95 pounds, you expect to have your car cleaned up to the maximum level of detail.' If you'd paid £395 I think that would be true, but this is 'valet' money, not 'detail' money.
