hi there it would be the upstreem, which year c class have you got? as it could be another issue, you hay have oil in your harness and that could be costly if the problem with the sensor is linked to oil in the loom.

take the advise, i change my loom, and all the other parts as they were all coated in oil causing all sorts of malfunctions, now the car runs as it should.

yes it can be done, its not that hard and i have done it to my w203. i got the jets from a breakers and fitted up in 20 mins that includes a tea break and a phone call!!!! a bit fiddly but not impossible.
