Ive just noticed that the badge on the rear of this car states a 500 sel, but the front grille looks like a sec version, with the star actually on the grille itself rather than the star being on the top of the grille. The car is on a c plate, Would the v5 show me which model this car is.

I am possibly looking to buy a 86 500 sel, the wings are bubbling, is it worth buying these from euro cars as they are very cheap and are they easy to fit.

I went to test drive a 1986 500 sel today and the oil pressure remained on high when idleing(3.0) the engine was off choke and the pressure remained on high during the test run, the oil was very black, could this be a simple oil/filter change or something more serious, it drove very smooth.thanks .

Hi, I have just purchased the 1985 230e so have not changed the oil/filter yet mileage reads 97,000 miles, the 1984 has had regular oil/filter changes and the mileage reads 75,000 miles.

Hi, My w123 1985 230e,s oil pressure reads about 2.3 out of the 3.0 when travelling at 60 mph, Is there a problem with the engine the engine sounds quiet and drives smooth, My other w123 230e (1984 model) has full 3.0 oil pressure but this engine is noisier, Is there a problem with my 1985 engine.

Hi, My 1984 230e has 75,000 miles on the clock, And my local mb garage advised that unless the chain is rattling and the oil has not been reguarly changed it is not neccesary to change the chain, Can this be right, Thanks Paul.
