exhaust Hi Mine is just an A class 2001 diesil Recently mot'd and failed due to centre section blowing. Replaced,however I noticed the tailpipe was different. Manual states it a bolt on. Did I do alright for £84 or not. Cheers

Hi Read this post with interest as I had this problem for what seemed ages. No other symptoms apart from continuous excessive trail of black smoke. Mercedes no idea. Had it diagnosed,egr valve fault code came up,replaced,no improvement. Garage took car back in, and free of charge looked deeper...

Hi I have an A class diesel that had a continuous black smoke problem, and I had solenoid valve next to egr replaced. No probs now. Loss of power, have you tried the fuel filter?

Hi, Anyone out there know why the above would need replacing? Garage said diagnostic test showed egr valve was faulty. No improvement to problem after replacement. Further investigation done and solenoid control valve replaced,now the problem is sorted. Thanks for feedback

Hi, Can someone tell me please, Is it difficult to replace a solenoid? Garage has part in, but master mechanic has to come and do the job. Surely it's not rocket science. Thanks
