How much do you pay for insurance

£250 for a 2019 c43, my i3s costs the same, both with Admiral.

    Ready steady Queue

Hopefully things will settle down by the end of the week as people get fed up topping up after every journey, when they realise there is no shortage. There was a story about 20 cars following a cement tanker thinking it was a fuel tanker, then blaming the lorry driver for not telling them he had...

    Surely not?

I would always get a second opinion for brakes/discs as this is a easy way to up sell. If they do need doing get a independent to change them. I had a b service last month at 12k miles and told I had only used 10% of my pads with 90% motorway on my c43. Thought I would’ve used more than that.

    WBAC Ridiculous offer?

A real shortage of cars out there. Land Rover and BMW forecourts had only a handful of cars when I went today, I thought they had shut down. Salesman said as there is a delay in new cars people are not part exchanging, so no used stock. I’m waiting for my GR Yaris (May22) then will sell my c43...

Help please - thinking of buying a C Class.

I’m on my first Merc, a 2019 facelift and only electrical issue I had was that the centre console display/buttons stopped working the day after pickup. A software update was carried out, all fine since. I also put this down to the battery draining while sitting on the forecourt. I since keep it...

Ferrari Porsche McLaren Amg killer for £35k new.

😀 Not really a Ferrari replacement, just something fun, practical, without the huge running costs. Paying £2k per year servicing and doing 300miles doesn’t make sense, plus I can’t get the dog in it. Over my 6yrs mileage dropped from 3k per yr to 300miles. Never thought I would have a Jap car...

Ferrari Porsche McLaren Amg killer for £35k new.

I think the thread title is wrong, it’s not a super car slayer, it’s a hot hatch and to even be mentioned with super cars shows you how good it is. It coincidently replaced my f360, but the plan was to buy another f car, but used prices have rocketed and I’d rather not buy at the top. I also...

Ferrari Porsche McLaren Amg killer for £35k new.

I have one on order, not expecting it until May22. It should be a fun 4wd, manual pocket rocket. 0% Apr, £300pm, so 2yrs fun at a very low cost. 5yr warranty which extends to 10yrs if serviced at Toyota each year. 0-62.5 is 5.5 seconds, but this involves a gear change at 60. 0-60 is done in 4.7...

What got you into the Mercedes Benz brand?

I needed a fun estate for dog duties. Having had numerous m3’s I didn’t want an suv, so either a amg or Audi rs. Bought a c43 estate and really happy with it. Can’t see me going back to Bmw, but another amg estate.

    C300d (2019) first service

I think service plans make sense here. Having just bought my first Merc, a year old c43, I signed up to the 4yr service pack for two A and B services, working out at £385 each. Includes all filters and brake fluid. I think that’s incredibly cheap compared to my previous f80 m3. It is a £40k car...

AMG popularity: a good or bad thing?

I think the brands a bit diluted and I have a C43, as it suits my needs. Funny story...I went to buy a litre of oil from my local Mercedes dealer and he wouldn’t believe that I had a C43 and went to check the Reg with my address. He said you wouldn’t believe the amount of people that come in...

C63 W205 uneven front tyre wear

I recently bought a c43 estate with 7k miles and both fronts had to be replaced as they were at the limit. They are Pirelli tyres. A bit surprised having come from a f80 m3 and I did 20k miles and tread wear was 5-6mm still left when i sold it. Maybe Mercedes are just heavier or front biased...

First Merc after 25yrs of M cars

Thanks for the comments. So impressed with c43 I’ve bought a four year service pack, intending to keep it for at least that long. Had there been a M5 touring in the current design I may have gone for that, but bmw seem to push you to suv’s. After six years of the 360, I want something a bit...

First Merc after 25yrs of M cars

After numerous m3, m5, csl and m6, I finally got my first Merc a c43 estate. I did consider a C63s, but as the car was primarily to transport my dog, don’t think I needed the extra power. I have an i3s for shopping/commute and my Ferrari 360 will be replaced with another F car for fun days...
