Guys When I cold start my E500 coupe (4.7 biturbo) I get a really nice throaty V8 burble but after a short time it quietens down to a very quiet burble. What is going on, is there a valve or some kind of bypass in the exhaust/manifold/engine? I would really like to keep the cold start burble...

It's a great underrated engine with huge torque with very impressive fuel consumption. It's the little brother engine to the amg 63 (5.5TT) without the the running costs. With an ECU tune you can get the amg 63 (500+hp/700+tq) levels of power but I haven't gone that route because it has enough...

How do you get to use that torque and get the traction? I have an E500 Coupe biturbo (4.7l) and even with a Quaife diff I struggle use what power/torque it has standard!

You need to measure the diameter of the disc if like mine (TT4.7) they are 360mm then they are the same as the base older c63 But the price from Mercedes isn't as bad as I had expected

cancel that last question as I have found i only have the tyre pressure monitoring which doesn't use the sensors but instead uses the abs system to give deflation warning! Regards Martyn

Excellent choice I've enjoyed my E500 4.7TT coupe for over 4 years now Super reliable and with that very underrated beast of a V8 engine. Has proved very economical for a big V8 Highly recommend adding a Quaife diff, makes a massive improvement to traction with all the available torque!

I've had my Quaife ATB (LSD) supplied and installed by Birds a couple of weeks ago and the experience and service was faultless. The car now finds traction rather than flashing dash lights at me! Highly recommended, you wont be disappointed Martyn
