dealer broke bleed nipple during service (E63 W212)

They told me they extracted the screw and put a new one in. Either way, i didn't pay for it to be resolved And thank you everyone for your input in to this, it was a truly shocking main dealer & mercedes experience.

dealer broke bleed nipple during service (E63 W212)

Hi All, Forgot to give everyone an update. the dealership fixed the issue once lockdown started to ease, it helped that the Motors Ombudsman also gave me a reference that i passed on to them, so it didn't require the TMO to make a decision on this although i may still use the TMO route to see...

dealer broke bleed nipple during service (E63 W212)

Couldn't agree more, I think i'd have received better service at Kwik Fit! It shouldn't have got anywhere near this, they should have sorted it asap, does make me wonder how badly they've broken it or what are they hiding from me?

dealer broke bleed nipple during service (E63 W212)

Without a car for now, it is still parked at the dealer as i'm refusing to pick it up until the ombudsman has made a ruling. In the meantime i'm looking at used Bentleys & Aston Martins to switch to when the car is fixed, done with such poor service.

dealer broke bleed nipple during service (E63 W212)

Mercedes have replied and said they've spoken to the dealer and because the bleed nipple broke during normal circumstances, they will NOT be responsible for the part and will NOT pay for the new caliper. Can't decide whether i'm gutted or appalled I'm going to refer this to the Motors...

dealer broke bleed nipple during service (E63 W212)

thanks everyone, there is some comfort in knowing that i'm not alone in thinking that the dealer should foot the bill here. Will add an update when I hear back from MB, the dealer in question is MB of Brighton (really though it is Lookers of Portslade!)

dealer broke bleed nipple during service (E63 W212)

if they'd have called me first and explained that, then i'd probably have let them go ahead with it but they didn't. MB customer services though were fantastic when i called and explained the situation to them, they're now looking in to for me, not only the bleed nipple, but also the lack of...

dealer broke bleed nipple during service (E63 W212)

am going to call MB shortly to complain, am still in shock at their arrogance that it is somehow not their fault the car has full, on-time MB main dealer service history since it was new in December 2013 so this is a complete kick in the nuts. And its the usual 6 weeks wait for the part too if...

dealer broke bleed nipple during service (E63 W212)

Have there been many other instances of rear brake caliper bleed nipples snapping off during a service? my local MB dealer has call to let me know it is £673 for a new rear caliper as the bleed nipple has broken off and apparently it is all part of the caliper unit, so it can't be extracted and...

Why does my insurance go up following a non-fault accident?

You could always write to the insurer for an explanation. I did that a few years ago when I opened a non-fault claim with Admiral after my BMW was vandalised in a car park. I cancelled the claim before it got too far through the process but the following years renewal spiked. I wrote to...

    Motor Legal Expenses.

As someone who has worked for a few general insurers, legal expenses are pretty much a con, they are so rarely invoked, like a number of the other ancillary extras on offer. In most cases, if you are hit, the insurer or an ambulance chaser will take your case on for free as they'll expect cash...

    Mapped C43 better than C63?

So its not been declared for your insurance then.....! They're getting much better now at running diagnostics on cars involved in insurance claims to spot for maps and I doubt any map is truly undetectable.

    AMG Private Lounge?

I'm going to sign up for it, just to see what its like. It'll give me something else to look at during work hours.
