Can anyone shed some light on this? I hadnt used the car for several weeks and found the battery had gone flat after fully re charging it the engine wont rev and runs awful' i pulled the plus on the MAF sensor to find it runs a lot better but it nowhere near perfect i suspect the sensor is faulty???

Sl Ignition problem I have the same problem, turn the key on and dash is dead. Ive found that putting my foot on the brake pedal brings it back to life, i know other owners with the same problem, surely somebody here has had this fault cured????

Ive got a 1998 280 SL the rims need a refurb, they are presently diamond cut. Theres no one close to me who can do diamond cut but they offer full powder coat, has anyone had this done and were they satisfied?

Does anyone have any idea what the cost would be to have the head gasket replaced on an SL280??

thanks for your reply, the only thing that made me think twice was the fact the top hose connects to this plate as well, and when you see that the fixing bolts are all around the perimeter of the plate you wonder how on earth we gat a good water seal

I have a 1998 SL280 which has an oil leak from the front cover (top of engine) it looks a fairly straight forward task to remove the cover but thought i'd better ask for any advice first.
