Right! Just to tidy this thread up: Fuel pump is packing up. Cheers to Alex Crow for his fault finding skills!

    C200k (2001) Starting Problems

Update: Had a bit of a search round today. I checked the wiring around the rear fuse box and swapped the fuel pump relay with the ones of the same type in the front fuse box. Still the same problem. I tried a different method of starting the car. I turn the ignition on but not to actually...

    C200k (2001) Starting Problems

I was just reading about other causes to my problem and one item discussed that other spurious faults can be thrown up. I sometimes get a warning that the licence plate bulb needs checking. Could this be a problem with the rear SAM and/or wiring? I think this maybe what Alex was hinting at!

    C200k (2001) Starting Problems

Had a look at the Fuel Regeneration Valve today and can't really tell much. Had a look down the inlet connector and it is a little grubby so I phoned a garage close to me to see how much it would cost for a new part. They only get their stuff from the main dealer: £87.00. I think before I start...

    C200k (2001) Starting Problems

Thank you, I shall check it in the morning. Excuse my ignorance but is it just a case of unplugging the connector and trying, viewing the filter or try a replacement?

    C200k (2001) Starting Problems

Well I had to sell the C180 (1995) for a "family car" but now i'm back with a C200k (2001). The car has developed a starting problem that is steadily getting worse. It cranks but doesn't start. At first it would only do this a couple of times before starting but now it takes 5-10 min to...

    1992 190E 2.6..... mmmm?

On my C180 I spent £600 on service, brake disks/pads/sensors, viscous fan, door strap and time looking at other small niggles. An expensive way to learn but I have learned none the less! I think I could easily spend another £600 sorting the car out and thats before changing those boy racer...

    1992 190E 2.6..... mmmm?

I have a 1995 C180 Sport at the moment which I got about 6 months ago? It's a nice enough car which I enjoy very much but it has been mucked around with. It has DOTZ alloys with spacers on one wheel only. It only takes a small bump and thats the tracking gone. I live down country lanes so the...

    Touching up

I had a good look at the number a paint chips on the bonnet are there are literaly hundreds of varying severity. I would say that the number that have exposed metal is a good 30-40% of the chips. I would say that it needs a respray but its a 1995 car and I'm looking to upgrade soon. I got the...

    Touching up

That thread title should bring up some interesting results on google. I have loads of stonechips which I am planning on touching up. I want to get a good finish so I want to take my time. The problem is that I don't have a drive or access to shelter. I know I need to leave the laquer 24hrs to...

    C180 Auto Sport (W202?) blog

Cheers for that. That sounds about right. The garage I got the car from said they had replaced the rear section due to corrosion. Would also explain that it only rattles when the system is hot. I opened up the windscreen wiper mechanism and found plenty of grease but it had started to look...
