Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

My mate bought a white one in the mid 70s from Roger Clarke Garages in the East Midlands. Traded in a nice reliable MGB. Nothing but trouble, and traded it for a TVR 3000M. Glutton for punishment I hear you say!

    Service plan / individual servicing?

Might be just worth checking with them what you are responsible for with the loan car insurance wise, so it's not a surprise.

    Service plan / individual servicing?

I have taken out exactly the same service plan you have with MB Exeter. Mine was for 3 years and is for 2 B services, 1 A service, all additional work items and an ATS service. All confirmed by them in an email to me for clarity. (The car is a May 2015, 250cdi E Class cabriolet) I did the maths...

    E63 AMGS Engine Seizure

Reading the comments on this subject, it comes over that MB are one of the worst companies out there. Yet we still buy their cars, join forums and seem to love them? Why? Funny old world, as someone once said.

    A250 (22 Plate) vs C300 (70 Plate) Convertible

When I read this, I did check to see whether it was 1st April!

GeJayW says "wheelbrow" issues, not wheel barrow! That's a problem for Alan Titchmarsh!

    decent diagnostics - south west

Try Coverdale, Decoy, Newton Abbot. They set up when Coverdales closed (the former main MB dealership in Paignton) by their workshop staff. Good reputation and experience.

    Yellow? Yes or no?

Only we baby boomers will get that! Although I hope not. Donovan was our Bob Dylan of course. Not quite, I know!

    Yellow? Yes or no?

At this age and mileage, it will be like driving a time bomb if the IMS bearing has not been changed. If it goes, the car is probably a write off. So allow £1500/2000 off the price to have it done properly. PS I like the colour!

    C350 cdi 2010

That's a typical mpg while the V6 engine is cold, especially in the colder months. Big capacity diesels are not very economical when cold. Once it gets up to working temperature that mpg figure will nearly double, especially at a steady speed.

    W218 250 CDi

You are not comparing like for like. Previously you had a V6 diesel, now you have a 4 cyl diesel. That is the difference. The Mercedes equivalent is the 3 litre V6, which is obviously smoother and quieter, as is the 4 cyl Mercedes engine when compared to the equivalent Jaguar engine.

Am I going mad...Warming to one of these...Lexus ES

At least it's not as ungainly as most of their current designs are. It will be reliable of course, but if we all bought a car simply for reliability only, we'd all be driving Toyotas and Hondas wouldn't we?!

    Mercedes Benz Customer Service

It's all well and good having fantastic customer service and reliability figures, but you need the products to sell. To my eyes, Lexus have the dullest and smallest range of models of any of the so called upmarket brands. With the exception of the LFA, they haven't made a good looking car for...

    Thinking of a 207 Convertible

With reference to the chrome on the rear seat release handles, my first E Class cab suffered the same problem as you found. Peeling and very sharp edges. They do feel very cheap and the chrome is a quick thin flash. My second facelift cab rear seat handles are OK at the moment.
