Fault command unit? Been told it's a fault with the car?

Hello all. My Command unit of my 'facelift' W215 CL55 has turned faulty. Radio still works. Navigation, telephone, night mode and ignition switch off no longer work. I sent the command unit off to Maple Audio who have a good reputation with vehicle command units and they've told me that they...

    ECU remap

Where abouts in Yorkshire? If you're south Yorkshire then I'd recommend noble motorsports at Chesterfield. They offer custom maps on there rolling road.

why should i buy c63 amg instead of m3 e9x?

Having owned an AMG and a few bmw's (driven a few m edition cars, never owned one) I find the bmw's to be much better sports cars, they tend to have more 'feel' in the steering, brakes and body control and I imagine they're great on the track. Have said that the AMG's have much more excitement...

    55AMG expert ideas? Bad noises...

I was referring to the serpentine belt tensioner below. The post above is a good idea and will narrow down the noise.

    55AMG expert ideas? Bad noises...

As stupid as it may sound have you checked the tensioner pulley below and to the right of the s/c? I had this on my 55 and it sounded like it was coming from the s/c when infact it was the tensioner below. My supercharger had slight movement in it too.

    Just bought 2007 SL55 - first steps

Ive owned a CL55 Kompressor for 9 years (similar to the sl). As summed up well in the previous posts, sometimes you do get problems, many of the small common problems are an easy(ish) diy fix believe it or not. You'll find this forum a great help in regards to that. It's all insignificant when...

This Mercedes myth can't be true?! or can it?

I doubt this is true if I'm honest. Although turbine blades are hollow with a core, most modern turbine jet engines aren't made from titanium (as far as I'm aware) but are made from a nickel-based superalloy which are more stable at high temperatures and rpm's. Also incredible expensive and...

cl55 without f1 gear shift on steering wheel

Not as hard as you might think. There's a few w220/w215 amg steering wheels with paddles on Ebay international at the moment for under £250.

cl55 without f1 gear shift on steering wheel

In future I'll read the whole post before commenting ;-D. I agree with the above comment, as it is the Kompressor version it should have the paddles. Therefore the wiring will be there.

Need help about the Mercedes main dealers!!

10 year old car, we've owned it for 9 years. Fortunately the light has still stayed off, hopefully permanently, strange one. Funny you should say that about the brakes.. :D

cl55 without f1 gear shift on steering wheel

Im assuming it's the non Kompressor version? If so I believe these weren't available with the flappy paddles. To fit them wouldnt be an easy task as I doubt the wiring will be there. I have the paddles on my CL55 and my Bmw and to be honest you're not really missing much.

Need help about the Mercedes main dealers!!

Quick update. I took a spare key with me to the dealership (Mercedes-Benz Sheffield) so I could get into the car before I went into the dealership. To my surprise there was no airbag/srs light on the dashboard. Once inside the service man went to go and speak to the technician who worked on...
