Normally, self level suspension is only to rear. No fluid under car. It is not 4matic.

Update: Main stealer, no joy. Turned out that the locking wheel nut is similar in face pattern to Merc nuts but the master keys Merc has do not fit as slight difference in diameter! A friend recommended a local tyre/wheel place, took it there and they had all 4 lock bolts out in about 10 mins...

Yup, try the tranny oil and filter change, may work wonders. Did for mine W124.

Nice one IMB, had similar problems a year or so ago with mileage at around 197K! Changed the tranny oil and filter and it has been smooth as velvet since. For oil change, used the original Dealer stuff but reckon all ATF's would do the job?

New spark plugs and clean the dizzy cap and rotor, if points not worn out but replace with new if worn out and it should start ok. I find that changing plugs at every 4-5K on my W124 (8V) keeps the engine running smooth as it tends to be plug heavy.

Amazing.......just "tapping" the relay (OVR?) with the fuses on top behind the battery and pressing in the wiring connector sorted the hiccups. Smooth as velvet now.
