    Inlet port shutoff motor m55

Hi, I am in the process of bypassing the inlet port shutoff motor M55 on my 2004 c270 cdi. Once I have put the 4.7 ohm resistor in, what position should I leave the arm on the motor. Should the ports be open or closed or doesn't it matter. Any assistance much appreciated
