    W205 C200 smell of petrol

@RambyUK As you say I believe the W204/S204 C180 and the W205 C200 engines are both from the M274 family: Mercedes-Benz M270/M274 engine - Wikipedia Sounds like your dealership is both more knowledgable and more customer friendly than my local MB main agent. Fortunately my local independent MB...

    W205 keyless bootlid problem

Sadly mine is four years old and so is out of the warranty period. If the sensor is an integral part of the motor and if replacing the whole assembly is the only solution then I imagine that'll be expensive.

    W205 keyless bootlid problem

Hi all Recently the bootlid on my W205 C200 has stopped closing. It starts to close and then stops as if there's some obstruction in the boot opening. This happens with all the various buttons on the bootlid, drivers door or keyfob. I read somewhere about a reset procedure for a different MB...

    W205 C200 smell of petrol

Marcus of C&V at Swavesey, Cambs replaced both fuel hoses identified in the above posts and since then I've not smelt any petrol under the bonnet. After posting a negative review for the MB main dealer in Cambridge on Google their Assistant After Sales Manager phoned me. He apologised profusely...

    W205 C200 smell of petrol

Thanks everyone for all the quick and very helpful input. I've just visited the nearest independent Mercedes specialist and they're going to check it out for me on Monday. The guy l spoke said he'd had a similar problem caused by the high pressure fuel line which, to me, sounds a much more...

    W205 C200 smell of petrol

Thanks very much Ernie for your quick reply and helpful information. Your idea about short runs is an interesting one and not something I'd considered. I do do some short runs but they're never less than 3 miles/15 minutes and enough to get the engine near normal running temperature and so I...

    W205 C200 smell of petrol

Hi, Increasingly there's a smell of petrol under the bonnet of my 2015 C200. When it was serviced by MB Cambridge last month I asked for this to be investigated. I was told it was related to the crankcase breather (which seems unlikely to me) and that they needed to have the car back in for...

Brand new C Class stolen in 2 minutes from drive

Unless I'm mistaken the double press thing disables that one key after which you can still open a car equipped with keyless go by touching one of the door handles. Or is there some other technique to disable the system on the car which allows the car to be opened by touching a door handle?

Brand new C Class stolen in 2 minutes from drive

The only thing I've read is how to disable the keyfob in order to save it's battery but this doesn't deactivate the car's keyless go system. Am I missing something? Is there another procedure that perhaps isn't mentioned in the owners manual? Many thanks Roger.

    Info call button

In the overhead panel on the W205 there are SOS and breakdown call buttons which I believe place a phone call to the expected service. However, I was wondering what services the info call button phones for you? Also I assume if there's a cost the first three years are included with the Premium...

    Pleased with my C200

In real life it's rather brighter, clearer and more steady than in the video. Partly because you don't have to refocus your eyes onto the instrument panel I find it less tiring and easier on my aging eyes. As an indication of relative size the text used to display current speed in the HUD...

    Pleased with my C200

The 350e felt very similar to my C200. It's acceleration is noticeably quicker but I think you could sense the extra weight making the handling feel somewhat more ponderous. Before deciding upon the W205 C Class I was seriously tempted by the Lexus IS300h and having had test drives in one and a...

    Pleased with my C200

That photo is very misleading. I think the photos I've seen in the W205 C Class brochures give a more realistic impression of the HUD image size.

    Pleased with my C200

The height of the HUD display is adjustable but this is more for accommodating variations in driver height than for moving the display. The image appears just above/beyond the end of the bonnet. This is especially good for me because I'm short sighted and wear glasses for driving and with my...

    Pleased with my C200

I'm glad if my thoughts have been of some help. Unfortunately I'm not in the Berkshire area.
