Can anyone please enlighten me as to how to remove this item from the glovebox? I have tried gentle force but it refuses to move, rather than employ a "bigger hammer" technique, any useful tips would be greatly appreciated? 2004 CLK200 (W209)

Have confirmed today that the "knicker elastic" tensioners on both sides of the roof have become detached from the material, but I cannot make out where they should be attached?

I cannot recommend this young man highly enough, my one and only key for my CLK W209 was in a damaged state and very frail as a result. In just an hour I had a new key & fob married to the car with the original fob refurbished and working perfectly! Just a shade over £200 for peace of mind...
